WP Fonts, PDF Conversions Mike Ludwick 17 Apr 2000 11:06 EST

Fellow RESADM-Lers,

As many of you know NSF has warned us about using Word
Perfect symbol fonts in proposals because Acrobat often will not
convert them to PDF. However, it seems that Corel has updated
its fonts to allow Adobe Acrobat Distiller version 4.XX to embed
these fonts into Portable Document Files (PDF's).

You can obtain these fonts at:
http://corel.com/Office2000/index.htm
click on "Free Service Pack 2"
then click on "WPFonts.exe"
Be sure to click on "Click for information" because it gives
instructions on how to install these updated fonts.

(You also might want to actually download the service packs too
while you are at it.)

A few months ago I tried to convert a WP file for a faculty member
that contained LOTS of symbols and it did not convert to PDF
properly. With the updated fonts everything embedded
BEAUTIFULLY. I thought some folks out there who might not
know about this might benefit. Good luck!
